Staff from the Property Services Section at Cloch went along to St Columba's High School with two colleagues from McDougall's to chat about careers in Property Maintenance.
The six colleagues were able to talk about being apprentices, or how their careers lead them to their current posts. In attendance were an Apprentice Electrician, and a supervisor from McGill as well as one of Cloch's Customer Connector Team, a Property Services Officer and our Head of Property Services. The talk was facilitated by the Head of Corporate Services, Liz Bowden. She was delighted at the outcome of the event. She said "It is very important that a community based business like ourselves reaches out the schools and helps guide and inform young people of careers they may not have thought about. We were able to give them advice on how to access trade apprenticeships and modern apprenticeships and hopefully, one day some of the students will consider a career in housing or property service."
Cloch would like to thank the Youth Advocacy Project and Mr Witherow of St Columba's for allowing us to be part of their project and class for the morning.
