Cloch Housing Association is a registered social landlord with the Scottish Housing Regulator. We are also a Scottish Charity registered with OSCR. These two facts mean that Cloch's governance (the accountability and the way it runs itself) is regulated and checked on an annual basis.
Housing Associations have a set of rules that set out the basic structure of how it is governed.
The Scottish Housing Regulator requires the Association to return an Annual Return on the Charter (ARC) and these are governed by the Regulatory Framework set out by the SHR. Also, they require that we submit and Annual Assurance Statement every year outlining how effective we are at applying good practice to the standards set out the Charter.
Most of the Governance and Performance is driven by the voluntary Board and the Leadership Team. They are responsible for reporting statistics and ensuring the association complies with all the regulations.
This part of our website will explain how we are monitored by the Scottish Housing Regulator, how we monitor our selves and the statistics we produce to show our performance to our customers and our Board.

Each year all Registered Social Landlords/Housing Associations submit data to the Scottish Housing Regulator outlining how we have performed in the previous year against a set of standards. These standards are detailed in the Scottish Social Housing Charter and are published by the Scottish Housing Regulator showing performance information across the sector.
Cloch sends all tenants an Annual Report each year which includes our “Report Card” highlighting our Charter Performance.
You can view the most recent Report Card contained in our Annual Reviews. You can also view our complete ARC submission by going to the Scottish Housing Regulators site.
Every 3 years, Cloch sets out its key visions and objectives for the next 3 years. This is set out in our Business Plan. Our Previous Business Plan was reviewed this year by our Board and staff. The Plan was refreshed following the consultations and then approved by our Board.
Cloch is governed by a Board that meets every 6 weeks. We have Standing Orders that govern how the Board conduct themselves at meetings.
As well as this, the Board can volunteer for one or two of the following sub-committees:
