ARE YOUR SMOKE DETECTORS UP TO DATE?
You will have seen the campaign from the Scottish Government advising that ALL homes should have Fire Alarms installed in homes which meet the current standards. This comes into force from February 2022.
As a landlord we have been installing these in our homes over the last year, and whilst we don’t have any legislative requirement to install them in privately owned properties we wanted to remind everyone who is an owner or sharing owner of the requirement and we thought it would be helpful to provide you with some useful information as provided by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service which we hope will explain what is required to meet the standard.
