At Cloch Housing Association, we believe our role extends far beyond bricks and mortar. We are equally committed to nurturing stronger, more connected communities. Over the past year, our Customer Involvement Team has delivered a vibrant and inclusive programme of events, each designed to foster a sense of belonging and reinforce Cloch’s place as a trusted community anchor.
One of the standout moments of this year’s calendar took place on Friday, 30 May, with the much-anticipated return of the Cloch Cup for its second year. This exciting football tournament, delivered in partnership with Inverclyde Council and sportscotland’s Active Schools, brought together over 180 young footballers from across Inverclyde’s primary schools.
The event was a resounding success, celebrating the values of fun, fitness, friendship, and local pride. The energy on the pitch was electric, with pupils showcasing their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the day.
After a series of thrilling matches, All Saints Primary emerged victorious, narrowly defeating Inverkip Primary in a nail-biting final to claim the title of Inverclyde Champions. But in our eyes, every child was a winner. Each participant received a Cloch-branded water bottle and a medal to commemorate their achievement and participation.
We are incredibly grateful to this year’s Cloch Cup sponsor, CCG (Scotland) Ltd, whose generous financial support made the event possible. Their contribution covered transport for all participating schools, ensuring that every child—regardless of location—had the opportunity to take part. This outstanding gesture reflects the spirit of community partnership we hold dear at Cloch.
“This event is about more than football,” said a member of the Customer Involvement Team. “It’s about creating memories, building confidence, and showing young people that they are valued members of our community. We’re proud to play a part in that.”
The Cloch Cup 2025 was a shining example of what can be achieved when organisations come together with a shared vision of community, inclusion, and opportunity. We’re already looking forward to next year!
