Inverclyde Council have started to expand its blue bin recycling service to include more tenement and hard-to-reach properties – including some Cloch Housing Association homes.
What’s happening?
From early September, blue bins or blue recycling sacks are being delivered to around 4,000 additional households. Some areas may have already received theirs. Collections will begin in October and will take place every two weeks, alternating with general waste collections.
What’s changing?
- Blue bins/sacks will be provided for recycling.
- General waste collections will move from weekly to fortnightly.
- Recycling will be collected on alternate weeks.
What can go in the blue bin/sack?
- Paper and cardboard (including cartons)
- Steel and aluminium tins (including aerosols)
- Plastic bottles and food containers
Neighbourhood recycling points are also available across Inverclyde for items not accepted in blue bins, such as glass, textiles, and other household materials.
